Data-driven wrapping, 100% mono-materials, and re-use: Key developments at Topa

From 14 to 16 April 2026, Gorinchem will briefly become the heart of the Dutch packaging world. You can find Topa at stand J22, where we will be translating the most important industry trends into your day-to-day operations. This isn’t just a standard product presentation; it’s a space where we dive together into the themes that determine how efficiently and responsibly your packaging process will run tomorrow.

Packaging is a specialist craft. A pallet that looks stable in the distribution centre only faces its true baptism of fire once it leaves the warehouse. At our stand, we will show you how to master that ‘last mile’ through three key themes:

From guesswork to certainty: Data-driven wrapping

Often, ‘extra’ layers of wrap are applied just to be safe, but more material doesn’t automatically mean more security. In fact, too much tension can cause a box to buckle. At our stand, we make these invisible forces visible using our data-driven wrapper in combination with Fiber Film Marathon.

To make the impact of the right balance and tension tangible, we challenge you to try our Jenga tower. It’s the ultimate visual representation of what happens when a structure’s stability falters. What we measure under laboratory conditions at the Topa Institute, you will see translated directly into practice here.

100% Mono-materials: Maximum recyclability, zero loss of protection

Everyone wants packaging to be recycled, but in practice, material mixes often pose a significant issue during waste separation. We believe that sustainability starts at the source: the design.

We will demonstrate how to switch to 100% mono-materials, such as the paper Reloc Bag, paper air-cushion envelopes, and the incredibly strong Inka pallets made from elephant grass. The result? You offer the end-user the convenience of a single waste stream, directly increasing recycling rates without compromising on product protection.

The reality of Re-use: New materials and initial insights

The most sustainable packaging is the one you can use repeatedly. But how do you set that up profitably? We are presenting our latest materials specifically developed for multi-use cycles.

More importantly, we’ll be sharing our initial experiences and use cases, demonstrating how a combination of robust materials and a streamlined return process can work in practice. We are also very keen to hear your thoughts: what challenges do you face when organising re-use? Let’s discuss the hurdles and opportunities together.

Add value to your trade fair visit, come and challenge us

Our specialists will be at the stand with plenty of time to discuss your specific questions and formulate an initial solution for your process on the spot.

  • Take samples for your team: We have various 100% mono-materials available as giveaways, so you can test them out on your own shop floor.
  • Present your case: Whether it’s a persistent packing nuisance or the cost-benefit analysis of your return logistics, we’re ready to brainstorm with you.
  • Experience the data: See live how our wrapper responds to different settings and what this means for your bottom line.

We look forward to meeting you at stand J22. Would you like to book a timeslot in advance or do you already have a case you’d like to share with us? Please email [email protected].
