It is hard to determine the root cause of damage if it is identified only at delivery.

Legislation

A renewed or tightened legislation regarding transport is a reason to critically examine the current form of transport and storage. Moreover, different rules may apply in different countries.

Product launch

Pre-launch transport testing can identify potential failure points of your packaging or product. But, these unpleasant surprises can often be eliminated with simple changes before your first delivery happens.

Qualification

For certain products, such as temperature-sensitive medication, the authorities stipulate that these must be shipped in a qualified (insulated) packaging. Furthermore, the client also often wants a test to be performed.
