FIG.: One bottle, one box, perfectly in balance

How Fig. and Topa created a minimalist packaging solution that says it all, with nothing in excess

When you say Fig., you say simplicity. Timeless design, natural ingredients and a conscious lifestyle come together in carefully selected clothing, accessories and skincare. Everything is thoughtful, sustainable and stylish. But how do you package a skincare oil that represents “less, but better”? Fig. found the answer in Topa, which handled the printing and die-cutting of the unique packaging. No excessive layers, no wasted space, just enough. A vision Topa shares: less waste, fewer unnecessary materials, and more considered choices.

Less, but Better

Fig. was born from a personal desire for simplicity. Founder Joke travelled regularly between Belgium and Portugal for love, and along the way discovered the luxury of less: one good shirt, one pair of everyday shoes, and one nourishing oil from head to toe. No excess, just quality. “Fig. is about making choices that last. Not too much, but just enough. Every piece is right.”

The collection is small yet refined: garments made from natural fabrics, one shoe model, a sturdy tote bag, and a multifunctional body oil made from fig seed, prickly pear, amaranth, and sea buckthorn. Everything is produced in small batches in collaboration with European ateliers. Fig. speaks to a community of people who live consciously, who travel, choose and reflect on what truly matters.

Form and function in harmony

For the packaging of the oil, Fig. collaborated with designers Nana Esi (atelier Brenda) and Aaron David Neubauer. The concept was clear: a sturdy, geometric box that holds the glass bottle in place without any inserts. No unnecessary fillers, no plastic, no superfluous details.

But a packaging concept on paper doesn’t make a finished product. To print and die-cut the design, Fig. turned to Topa. “We had a dummy made elsewhere, but it didn’t meet our expectations at all,” says Joke. “Topa immediately understood what was needed, and the result is exactly what we’d hoped for.”

Trust and craftsmanship

Boxes

Marco from Topa ensured the project was completed on time, just ahead of the festive season. “The communication was smooth and clear. We’re really pleased with both the collaboration and the final result,” Lien adds. The shape and print perfectly match the brand’s minimalist image, understated, yet distinctive.

The box is strong, efficient and beautiful. It protects without overpacking, and like the product itself, it reflects Fig.’s philosophy: simplicity as a choice, not a compromise.
